Susie Sharpe Hohenstein was born in Atlanta Georgia to Mary and Joe Sharpe. After high school, she went to Armstrong State College (now Armstrong Atlantic State University) and majored in Dental Hygiene with a minor in Phys. Ed./Business. Living in Savannah most of her life, she married John B. Hohenstein in and has a son, Johnny. Susie has worked in a number of jobs in the public sector over the years.Always a natural comedienne and performer with a larger than life personality and jovial nature, she started working in the film industry in craft services and as a production assistant. Then she had the opportunity to play a zombie Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies (2012). With her interest in professional acting piqued, she started taking classes in Meisner and Spolin improv. She has played a wide range of characters from a sweet old dog-loving lady in the 2016 film Sinking Sand, to a murderous wife on Swamp Murders. Susie has a recurring role on the 2016 hit HBO comedy series, Vice Principals, starring Danny McBride and Walton Goggins, as the cantankerous teacher, Mrs. Kingsbury. Her comedic presence has often been compared to Melissa McCarthy, Kathy Bates, Margo Martindale, Shelly Winters, and Miriam Margolyes.
